Think about

Is your current deal ending?
You could save money by switching to a better rate. If the value of your home has gone up in price since you last took out a mortgage then you could access more deals as your loan to value decreases.

If your mortgage deal is not coming to an end then you may have to pay early repayment charges if you remortgage.

Consider if you want the flexibility of making overpayments on your mortgage and look for deals that provide this.

You may have to pay other costs when you remortgage such as deeds release fee, arrangement fee, valuation and conveyancing fees so include these in your budget.

If your having credit problems or the value of your home has decreased then remortgaging may not be the right option for you.
