Need to claim?
If you need to claim on a Royal & Sun Alliance policy taken out on or before 31 December 2023, please call 0330 102 4097. Lines are open 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Can I pay monthly?
You can pay your premiums monthly by Direct Debit if you want to. Unlike many other insurers, we won’t charge you extra on top of your normal yearly premium.
How do I change my policy?
If you need to change your policy, call our UK-based helpline. We won’t penalise you with administration charges, however please note your policy premium may change depending on what you want to change.

How do I cancel my policy?
If you need to cancel your policy, call our UK-based helpline.
Please note, if you cancel your cover and haven’t made a claim, we will refund the proportional (pro-rata) amount of the premium which applies to the remaining period of insurance, less a minimum premium of £28 (including insurance premium tax) where applicable.
PMGI Ltd may also make a charge for policy cancellation.

Do I get a courtesy car?
Subject to availability, you get a temporary hire car following an accident or theft. Please refer to the policy documents for full terms and conditions.

Who is allowed to drive my car?
Cover will be provided for anyone named on the Certificate of Motor Insurance to drive your car, as long as they’re driving the car with your permission.
I take my car to Europe. Can you provide cover?

I’ve been driving a company car for the last 5 years. Will you allow me any No Claims Discount?

What is a No Claims Discount?
A No Claims Discount is a discount which insurers offer if you can provide evidence of a claim free driving history.
What is policy excess?
Policy excess is the part of a claim that you agree to pay – the car insurance covers you for the remaining amount.
Is immediate cover available?
If you buy your policy online or over the phone, immediate cover is available.
When my car is in the garage for a service, does my car insurance cover me to drive the garage’s courtesy car?

If I have a claim for windscreen damage, does it affect my No Claims Discount?
No, windscreen claims do not affect your No Claims Discount.
Do I have to pay the excess towards a Third Party claim?
No, you only need to pay the excess towards your own repairs.
Does my car insurance cover me to drive other vehicles?
Depending on the level of car insurance cover you’ve chosen, you may be able to drive other cars at Third Party cover (with the owner’s permission). You’ll need to check this on your insurance policy documents.
Do I have to show my car insurance certificate when I use my car abroad?
When you take your car abroad the cover you have is shown on your insurance certificate so you must always take this with you.
Are child seats replaced after an accident?
Yes, if you have a child car seat in your car and your car is involved in an accident that results in impact damage to your car, the child seat will be replaced with a new one of the same quality, up to a value of £150, even if it doesn’t appear to be damaged.
Am I covered for accidental damage to my own vehicle?
Accidental damage is covered on comprehensive policies. This covers you for damage to your car.
How do I add another driver to my car insurance policy?
If you want to add another driver to your existing policy, please call us on 0151 242 7640. You’ll need the following information about the other driver:
- Their name;
- Date of birth;
- Occupation;
- Driving licence details; and
- Their driving experience (such as any previous claims or motoring convictions).
Are factory fitted options classed as modifications to my car?
No, factory fitted options are not classed as modifications. A modification is anything made after the car leaves the factory that alters the standard specification or the appearance of the car. The fittings should be declared as part of the overall value of the vehicle.
