No1 Healthcare Scheme FAQs

These FAQ’s are designed to answer common questions following the recent communication about changes to your healthcare subscription.

Why have my No1 (closed) Healthcare Scheme subscriptions increased?

Over the past year the scheme has been impacted by a higher level of claims combined with rising private medical costs and the effects of high rates of inflation. To continue offering you the best care, we now need to increase your monthly subscriptions.

When will the price increase take effect?

The increase to your subscription will start from the 1st June 2026. You don’t need to do anything; your payments will update automatically.

Will you keep increasing my subscriptions?

Our aim is always to keep any increases to a minimum and only review subscriptions when it is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the scheme.

When we do review them, it is based on a combination of factors such as the overall cost of medical treatment, the number and value of claims made across the scheme, and wider economic conditions like inflation.

We are committed to continuing to offer a high level of cover and valuable benefits to our members. Any changes are carefully considered to ensure we can maintain the quality of care and support you rely on, both now and in the future.

We will always communicate openly with you in advance of any changes to your subscription.

How will this price increase affect my current membership benefits?

There will be no changes, you will continue to receive your usual level of benefits, some which are not typically available in new healthcare schemes of this nature today.

Can I transfer to the PMHC Open Healthcare Scheme?

It is possible to transfer to the current scheme, and the monthly subscription amount may be lower depending on your circumstances. However, some benefits and some levels of cover may not be the same as your current scheme. Before deciding to transfer, we recommend reviewing the differences carefully to ensure the alternative scheme meets your needs. You can find information about your current scheme here and details of the alternative open scheme AWO 3329 – Healthcare Open Scheme – 1225.
