We’re delighted to have worked together with our colleagues at Royal London to bring you this updated webinar setting out how the Government proposes ending the unlawful age discrimination in the Police Local Government Pension Scheme (the “McCloud” remedy).
In this webinar, which is specific to Police staff who are members (including retired and former members), of the Local Government Pension Scheme, it provides an overview of the McCloud remedy to end the unlawful age discrimination which occurred in Public Service Pension Schemes in the recent past.
The webinar begins with an explanation of what the issue is and how it occurred, and explains how it’s going to be put right. It sets out what it may mean for impacted individuals, and puts the whole thing into context with some case studies. This particular presentation stops short of exploring the taxation impacts of the McCloud remedy. But there is a separate webinar available which specifically covers this aspect for LGPS scheme members.
