Force for Good awards £55,000 to support local community projects across the UK

Bringing annual total to £100,000

For over 150 years Police Mutual has been committed to helping serving and retired Police Officers, Staff, Specials and their families with their finances. Last autumn Force for Good, our award winning national community sponsorship programme, awarded £55,000 in support of successful local projects throughout the country. Altogether, grants ranging from £100 to £500 were given to 183 initiatives.

Following the success of the last phase we have reopened the Force for Good application window throughout February giving Officers, Staff and their family members the opportunity to nominate a local good cause close to their hearts.

Stephen Mann, Chief Executive of Police Mutual, explains: “At Police Mutual we are all about improving the lives of the Police family, and we are particularly focussed around financial, mental, physical and community wellbeing. Force for Good is now in its third phase, and it’s great to see even more members of the Police family nominating local projects and causes close to their hearts, some of which they know through their local policing work. Yet again, we have been astounded by the impressive volume and quality of applications received. Overall in 2016 Force for Good received a total of 2,986 nominations and awarded £100,000 in grants ranging from £90 to £800 to 301 initiatives.”

In 2017 we are pledging a further £100,000 across the year. So if you've got a community project you'd like to nominate for up to £1,000 funding from the Police Mutual Foundation, the Force for Good application window is now open until Tuesday 28 February 2017.
