In May our head of Police Service Engagement, Claire Long, was delighted to be invited by the Police Treatment Centre's CEO, Patrick Cairns, to open their newly refurbished Summerhouse in Harrogate.
Police Mutual is proud of our longstanding relationship with the Treatment Centres, with the Police Mutual Foundation funding patient advisors who provide much-needed counselling support for Officers attending the centre.
Claire said: "The Summerhouse will be a focal point for those who need time out for quiet contemplation, or to unwind and de-stress. Our own mental health research paints a picture of increasing demand within the Police for mental health services and this will be a great location where the focus is very much about improving mental health.
"The team has really done a great job in transforming the Summerhouse and a lot of thought has gone into the interior to make it a comfortable and relaxing space. They should rightly be very proud of their achievement."
The Centre received funding from the LIBOR monies and the Summerhouse is just one of the projects completed as a result of that donation.comments powered by Disqus
