Proud to support the Police Service
In 2014 we invested £255,000 in the sponsorship of initiatives like the Police Bravery Awards.
Last year, 66 officers from 31 forces were nominated for bravery awards. Each and every one had acted with incredible bravery in extremely difficult and dangerous situations.
We believe it is incredibly important to formally recognise the heroism of Police Officers who act selflessly to protect the lives of others, which is why we have supported the Police Federation of England and Wales in delivering this event for the past six years.
We are honoured to be able to demonstrate through our sponsorship of the Police Bravery Awards our respect for and thanks to the Police Service for keeping us safe, each and every day.
We also understand that the situations you face, day in and day out, can have an impact not only on yourself but also on those around you, sometimes long after the danger itself has passed.
That's why as well as paying tribute to the bravery shown by Officers through our sponsorship of these awards, we're also committed to providing practical support to help Officers, Staff and their families recover from the impact of traumatic events, injury or illness.
- In 2014 we received 140 referrals to our free Member Care service, which helps members affected by a serious mental or physical health condition or bereavement. We've heard at first hand the real difference this is making to the lives of many of those we've supported.
