In 2014 we spent £420,000 on activities to support the wider wellbeing of Police employees, as part of the Police Mutual Foundation.  

Our Foundation was set up in 2011 and works with Force Welfare, Occupational Health departments and staff associations to deliver a range of practical help, insight and learning.

  • One of the key initiatives we invested in was research into protecting the mental health of Police employees.  We will be socialising our findings during 2015, to raise awareness of mental health conditions and reduce stigma.
  • We also supported 108 families to deal with the impact of trauma, illness, family problems or other issues by offering Officers and Staff free respite accommodation to help them 'take time out' to recuperate.
