Julie began her Police career in Avon and Somerset Police in 1978. Since then she has held positions in ACPO as well as Thames Valley Police and Cambridgeshire Constabulary, where she was appointed Chief Constable in 2005.
She was awarded the OBE in 2007 and the Queen's Police Medal in 2010. She was also President of the British Association of Women in Policing. Julie was elected to the Committee of Management as a Vice President in 2007 and appointed as Police Mutual's Chair in 2011.
Julie is currently director of her own management consultancy company and non-executive director for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. In April 2017 she was appointed Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire. Julie chairs the Committee of Management, Managing Board, Nomination Committee and Foundation Advisory Board, and is a member of the With-Profits Committee.
Paul has spent most of his career at KPMG, where he was a Partner specialising in the insurance sector, particularly life insurance and led its European insurance consulting practice.
He has a broad range of experience over his 30 years in the financial services industry including major change programmes, finance transformation, distribution and restructuring.
Paul is currently a non-executive director of the National House-Building Council (NHBC) where he Chairs the Audit Committee. He is also a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee at Just Group, and a non-executive director of a number of its regulated subsidiaries.
Richard began his career at KMPG UK in 1973 and qualified as an accountant in 1976. He has over 25 years' experience of auditing institutions regulated by the FSA and its predecessor regulatory bodies and has significant experience of audit, risk and credit committees.
In 2016 Richard became a non-executive director and Audit Committee chair and Remuneration Committee member at TPT Retirement Solutions and in 2017 he became a non-executive director at Skipton Building Society.
Richard was elected to the Committee of Management in May 2007. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee and is a member of the Managing Board and Remuneration Committee.
Julie is an experienced financial services professional with a strong track record of growing businesses, running large scale customer-facing operations, developing and implementing strategy and leading the delivery of transformational change within large blue chip companies. She is a non-executive director at CIS General Insurance Limited, where she is also chair of its Risk Committee. Julie is also a non-executive director at West Bromwich Building Society.
Julie was co-opted to the Committee of Management in 2014 and is Chair of the Remuneration Committee, a member of the Managing Board and With-Profits Committee.
John has a wealth of senior management experience gained at Aviva, where he was latterly Chief Financial Officer and Group Business Development Officer for the UK Life business and before that Chief Risk Officer for Aviva plc. His 35 years’ experience in the financial services sector includes senior actuarial roles at Aviva, where he was Chief Actuary from 2005 - 2008.
During his Aviva career John was a member of the Group Executive, various entity Boards within Aviva and chair/member of a number of key management committees.
John is currently a non-executive director and Risk Committee Chair for Police Mutual, Phoenix Life Group, Pacific Life Re and Old Mutuals Emerging Markets business. He is also a trustee of the University of York staff pension scheme.
Stephen's career began in the City as a corporate and financial services lawyer. He then joined Aviva, where he was subsequently appointed as the Executive Director with responsibility for Strategy and Business Services. While at Aviva, he was also Chair of the With-Profits Committee and key subsidiary businesses as well as York Cares, an employee volunteering charity.
Stephen became the Chief Executive at Police Mutual in 2009. He is a founding Trustee of the Police Arboretum Memorial Trust and an independent co-opted member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the College of Policing. He was previously a non-executive director at ALICO UK. Stephen is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute.
Barry is an experienced investment professional with a strong track record of managing both investments and investment management organisations and has had previous roles as Chief Investment Officer at Morley Fund Management Limited and also Chief Investment Officer at Friends Ivory & Sime plc.
He is currently Chairman of the Reliance Pension Scheme Trustee Company. Barry was elected to the Committee of Management in 2010. He is Chairman of the Investment Committee and a member of the Managing Board and Audit Committee.
